An overflow crowd at the great new Washington Heights restaurant La Pinata helped Robert Jackson launch his campaign for State Senate. The Saturday afternoon event drew a large, diverse crowd from across the District. Attendees enjoyed the delicious food and pledged to hold events to help grow the campaign.
"Two years ago, we came very close -- in fact closer than any challenger to an incumbent Senator," said Jackson. "But we lost because we started too late and raised too little. Now I'm starting early and ask you to join with me and be a part of this movement to uplift our community, our city and our state."
The campaign launched a program call, "Find 10 to Give 10!" whereby supporters commit to find ten friends to give at least $10 and help the campaign grow.
