Education was my salvation. That’s why I’ve fought so hard to knock down barriers and make sure every child receives the best education possible, and the same opportunity to succeed in life as I had.

EDUCATION

From his first elected position as School Board President where he launched the Campaign for Fiscal Equity school funding lawsuit to fix a funding formula that was cheating our children, walked 150 miles to Albany to highlight the cause and won a court judgment that awarded $16 billion for NYC public schools, to his 12 years on the City Council where he helped start a Drop-Out Prevention Initiative, helped create more than 4,000 new openings for Pre-K and fought to increase funding for arts education, to now as State Senator where he has led the fight to increase funding and lower class size, Robert Jackson has fought to make sure every child gets a good education, no matter where they come from.

Right now, hedge funders aiming to privatize public education are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into campaigning against Robert, because of his strong record of supporting equitable public schools where all students can receive the education they deserve.
